This year’s On The Wings Of Angels Annual Fundraising Gala was an unforgettable gathering of supporters, survivors, advocates, and partners. Hosted by the visionary leader JoJo Dries, the event honored the courage of survivors and recognized those who have contributed to the organization’s mission throughout 2025 and early 2026. The evening was filled with purpose, connection, and a powerful reminder of why this work matters.
On The Wings Of Angels is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence by providing advocacy, educational resources, transitional housing support, and community engagement opportunities. They work tirelessly to create safer futures for women and families, centering dignity, empowerment, and recovery in everything they do. (https://www.otwoa.org/)
This year’s gala brought together board members, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and friends who have shown unwavering support for the organization’s vision. Together, they celebrated milestones, shared stories of impact, and reaffirmed their commitment to a future where survivors feel supported, heard, and valued.
Our CEO, Leo, has had the honor of working with On The Wings Of Angels for several years, capturing moments from fundraisers, awareness events, and community experiences. Being recognized at this gala was a meaningful moment for him and for our team. It was a humbling reminder that the work we do — documenting purpose-filled gatherings and preserving stories of resilience — has real impact beyond photography and film. Leo was not only in attendance but was also honored for the Heart Of Community Award and invited to speak during the event. His speech became a defining moment of the night, centered around the importance of community support for survivors and the role we all play in helping others rise from difficult circumstances. His message was simple but powerful: “we rise by lifting others.”
Over the years, working with JoJo and On The Wings of Angels has become more than professional collaboration — it has become personal. Through documenting their events, stories, and impact, we have seen firsthand how much this organization changes lives. Leo shared how this work has reshaped the way he views storytelling, not just as content creation, but as a way to give a voice to those who need to be heard.

The gala itself was a reflection of everything the organization stands for — hope, resilience, and unity. Supporters, advocates, and community members gathered not just to celebrate, but to actively contribute to a mission that provides real support for survivors in our community.
Moments like the 2026 Gala remind us why we tell stories, why we show up, and why community matters. Whether it’s honoring survivors, celebrating supporters, or simply documenting shared experiences, our work with On The Wings Of Angels continues to be one of the most purposeful parts of our journey. In addition to his work documenting meaningful community events, Leo is deeply committed to The Detroit Legacy Project, an initiative designed to honor and preserve the stories that make Detroit unique. The project seeks out the personal narratives of residents, families, business owners, and community contributors whose experiences reflect the heart, resilience, and spirit of the city. By capturing these stories through film, imagery, and spoken word, Leo aims to create a living archive that celebrates Detroit’s past, present, and future.
